Scheduled
Smartrak has a planned maintenance window scheduled for 2023-07-20 from 00:00:00 AEST to 05:00:00 AEST where we will be conducting a full instance migration from our Datacentre systems to services in the Cloud so that Smartrak can continue to offer world class service for GPS tracking and asset insights.

We backed out the migration attempt on the 7th as we were not confident we could complete the migration in the given window due to unforeseen issues that occurred on the night and did not want to interrupt service outside the schedule's window. We have mitigated and solved those issues and have a much higher level of confidence now.

Please read the following carefully, as there may be some action required on your behalf:

Over the next few weeks, we will be migrating all Smartrak connected devices to their new endpoints. This happens even before the migration starts so that we can have a large window for devices to be able to receive settings to talk to their new endpoints.

After migration is complete, there will be a window where we will have the old endpoints still available as we decommission our physical devices. Once this decommissioning is complete, any devices still talking to the old endpoints will cease to function.

For devices that are used regularly, this is not an issue. Continue to use them normally and they will move over to the new endpoints with little interruption and you will not need to do anything.

For devices that are used infrequently, please ensure that the device is on and sending events after the 19th of June, as the devices will need to be on to receive their new settings.

The old endpoint will remain available for the majority of July but after that point, any devices that have not migrated will stop working and will require a revisit and return to Smartrak to direct the device's traffic to the new endpoint.

Smartrak services will be unavailable during periods in the midnight to 5AM outage window. These Services include the following:

* Cellular based personal safety devices
* Iridium based personal safety devices
* Emergency alarm and tracking for GPS devices. Once services are available, all pending GPS events will be processed. No data will be lost.
* Smartrak app website (maps/reports/fleet servicing/pool booking)
* Smartrak admin website
* Smartrak APIs and web services
* Emergency notifications (both SMS and Email). Once services are available, pending emergency notifications will be sent.
* Public Transport Data Feeds

The following services are unaffected by this outage:

* Smartrak PoolCar booking system

Please contact your Smartrak Customer Success Manager should you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Smartrak
